SPECIAL EFFECTS COMPETITION
Be a part of the 2nd annual Special Effects Competition at Crypticon 2009! The prizes will be bigger and better, so don’t miss out this year! Amateurs, as well as Pros, are invited to enter. This will be a people’s choice competition, meaning everyone at the show is allowed one vote. Voting starts at 8 p.m. on Friday the 6th. To allow yourself a fair chance to win, be sure your entry is in our hands before 8 p.m. All entries will be in a secure area and will be left there until the end of the competition. The winner will be announced at 3 p.m. on Sunday the 8th.
RULES
There is no cost to enter, but you must be a paid vendor or a paid guest of Crypticon. YOU
MUST HAVE PROOF THAT YOU CREATED YOUR ENTRY! You should have your name
embedded into your prop or a photo of you with your prop while creating it or a photo of
you with the molds. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any piece believed to be
a piece that is not produced by the individual. All entrees must be the product of one person’s creation. SORRY, NO TEAM EFFORTS (FX DEPARTMENTS)!
If it is an item you are currently or have previously been producing for sale, please do not enter it. It can be something you are going to
reproduce, like a prototype. One-of-a-kinds >are most welcome. You can have up to 2 entries per person. Recommendations for entries are: Masks, busts, statues, props, and bodies. For life-size
props there will be a limited amount of space, so it will be first come, first serve. For masks, bring a foam head or stand to
display your entry. Enter Crypticon FX Competition and receive a trophy and other prizes!
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place honors awarded!
